The Estonian Presidency Conference
The Estonian Presidency Conference ‘Contemporary Approaches to Learning and Teaching’ was held on 19-20 September 2017 in Tallinn. The conference focused on the adaptation of learning and teaching roles in response to both long-standing and newly emerging needs notably created by technological changes.
This conference aimed to shine a light on best practices from across Europe including Estonia, and discuss how they can be applied more widely in attention to the changing roles of teachers, schools and other educational institutions. Interventions and debates sought to build a shared understanding of key educational research results and how these can support student learning and achievement. Workshops notably focused on the issues of stakeholder engagement, educator and learner engagement and autonomy, and the building of effective learning environments that address the needs of a world in flux.
The NESET II Network was represented at the conference by PPMI Researcher Dalibor Sternadel. Videos of the interventions and panel discussions and a summary of the conference are available here.
