This report examines the available data on the nature and impact of affirmative action interventions in education and training in the EU and beyond, with a particular focus on local initiatives and interventions in socioeconomically disadvantaged areas.
The report documents the extent to which local education-related initiatives have improved educational outcomes in primary, secondary and post-compulsory education, for groups of young people who are relatively poor, who live in the poorest areas and historically have the lowest levels of education.
