Recent Research Developments and Relevant Topics in Current Discussions on Social Aspects of Education and Training (Ad Hoc Question 2)

A comprehensive report on recent research developments and relevant topics in current discussions on social aspects of education and training – initiated by the European Commission – has been published in the form of an ad hoc question. This report provides a summary of new topics covering a number of social aspects of education and training that currently play an important role in academic discussions and research projects, new developments and findings, as well as research that promises relevant novel or renewed foci on certain parts of the field. Considering the nature and breadth of this question, this summary is not an analytical study. Rather, it attempts to put a finger on the ‘pulse’ of current research developments by providing a brief description of selected topics and issues, with references for further reading.
